Introducing the mommies behind the posts

One reader asked us to introduce the writers behind the posts, so here's your answer!

We are two sisters from a family with eleven children. Our parents made our childhood special by reading with us, filling our holidays with exciting traditions, planning fun family outings and vacations, and teaching and encouraging us to be the best we could be. We are now raising our own children and trying to bring some of that same joy and strength into their lives. You may also occasionally see posts from our other sisters that have insights to share as well!

"Sisters by birth, friends by choice!"

Andrea (founder/contributor) is an Elementary Education graduate who taught 2nd-4th grades and is now a mother of five children--2 girls and 3 boys--who keep her on her toes and fill her bucket of love and joy every day.  She currently works full-time as a mother, but still dabbles in her love of teaching in any capacity including tutoring children, leading a boy scout den, and volunteering in her children's classrooms. She is also passionate about running, the outdoors, American Sign Language, bargain shopping, serving in the community, and attending the theater.

Rachel (contributor) is a former middle school English teacher and private tutor who is now a homeschooling mom to four young children (ages 6, 4, 3, and 5 months as of March 2014). She lives in southern California and loves going on "field trips" with her kids to the library, beach, museums, and more. Her number one hobby is playing with her children; next to that, she loves reading books (she is part of several different book clubs!) and singing.
